 Alcohol and drug addiction is a primary, chronic, progressive, and
fatal disease affecting the lives of countless numbers of people.
Those in the grip of this disease suffer not only physically, but
also mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.The devastation of addiction goes beyond the individual with far-reaching effects on generations of families, finances, health, careers and society as a whole. In order to reverse the tragedy of wasted lives and untapped human potential inherent in alcohol and drug addiction, we look to the arresting of this disease through the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, the most successful method of healing addiction. Adherence to this way of life has brought relief and freedom to millions suffering the isolation and wreckage of addiction. We believe that acceptance of the problem, total abstinence from mind-altering chemicals, a commitment to change, and the continued practice of the Twelve Steps will result in a lasting and healthy recovery. | |
